CALIFORNIA CASUALTY PROVIDES GRANTS TO TWO ATHLETIC PROGRAMS IN TWO IDAHO SCHOOL DISTRICTS

Two IEA schools who have been selected for California Casualty’s 2021 Thomas R. Brown Athletics Grant Program. Each will each receive a $1,000 grant.  This year, public middle and high schools in 26 states will be benefiting from $51,000 in grant monies.  These awards will assist sports programs in 51 schools across the country.  This year, of the 481 applications received, California Casualty was able to select the schools in NEA locals with the greatest need.  Since its inception in 2010, the athletics grant program has given $789,550 to financially burdened athletics programs.

A check presentation was made to the association leaders at each of the schools at the social at the 2022 IEA Delegate Assembly. 

The two schools receiving the grant awards:  Kuna Middle School in Kuna, ID – $1000 to girls basketball; Lakeland Middle School in Rathdrum, ID – $1000 to Volleyball. 

Association leaders in each of the two districts applied for the grants.
